How is Bremetide™ different from other ED medications?
Bremetide™ causes a rapid increase in sexual arousal, the feeling of which is fairly “raw” because it comes from the hypothalamus. i.e the sexual urge may feel intense. It is most beneficial for those who may feel the lack of sexual satisfaction or may want more out of their sexual encounter. The effects may last over 24 hours.
In addition, it is reported that Bremetide™ works in 80% of men who do not respond to the standard PD5 Inhibitors (Viagra, Cialis). So it can be an alternative ED treatment, especially in men who have mild to moderate ED.
Is it FDA approved?
Same pharmacological agent (Bremelanotide) is FDA approved for women for Hypoactive Sexual Arousal Disorder. It is used “off label” for men to treat ED and low libido.
How is Bremetide™ stored?
Unlike PGE1 in ICP, It is fairly stable at room temperature. Hence, one can carry it without having to keep it in ice. It is best to store it in refrigerator when not in use.
What are the contraindications?
Contraindications are “relative” and may include:
- uncontrolled hypertension
- unstable cardiovascular diseases
- Severe renal disease, liver disease In practice, we do not wish to treat sexual dysfunction in any patient who has any “active” disease process.
What are the side-effects?
The most common side-effect is nausea, which is dose-dependent. Hence it is advisable to stay within the recommended dose to avoid this unpleasant symptoms.
Other side-effects are less common and may include vomiting, flushing, reactions at the injection site.
Temporary increase in blood pressure and decrease in heart rate is not common but significant, hence it is not recommended in patients who have uncontrolled hypertension or cardiovascular disease, as stated above. Risk is increased if you use more than prescribed.
Rarely, patients may complain of headache, nervousness, pounding in the ears, dizziness, and focal hyperpigmentation (darkening of skin)
Focal hyperpigmentation (gum and part of skin such as face, breasts). Patients with dark skin is more prone to developing this side-effects, and the chance is higher if used daily. This darkening is skin may not go away after discontinuation.
Can I drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes?
To a mild degree, yes. The effects of alcohol may dampen the sexual arousal if patient is intoxicated.
How often should I use Bremetide™? How do I best use it?
Bremetide™ is best used once in 24 hours, and not to exceed 2 times a week. It is a relative recommendation in order to reduce the side effects if any.
It is recommended to use injectable Bremetide™ between 30 min to 6 hours before the expected encounter.
Individual results vary. So you should try it a few times at different time frame to establish optimal results. The result will then be consistent each time.
The effects may last over 24 hours.
