An Exercise Routine Each Day Keeps Erectile Dysfunction Away?

April 17, 2019 by admin

While some men require multi-layered treatment to help in their battle with erectile dysfunction, others can get marked results by improving the way they take care of themselves.

Even if you do need a physician’s help, making changes in the way you live can multiply the benefits you get from treatment.

Try to exercise regularly. The research on the best methods of exercise call for doing it five days a week. Start at just a few minutes a day, if you’ve been inactive. As you get into the routine, and as you become more fit, work up to 30 minutes. If you can’t do five days a week, try to work out as much as you can.

Stick with it. The longer you keep exercise as part of your routine, the easier it is to keep the habit.

You can ask your doctor for help in finding a physical therapist, if you’re unsure about how to start exercising. With professional help, you can get a safe, solid start.

Try scheduling exercise into your day, and look for classes that you’ll have fun in and look forward to. If it’s less of a chore, you are more likely to keep it as part of your long-term lifestyle change.

When you begin to see results—especially the benefits exercise can bring to your sexual function—you may never want to stop!  Boston Medical Group encourages finding treatments of all kinds.

For Men, Regular Doctor Visits are Extremely Important

January 29, 2019 by admin

Many men feel like their wives push them to go to the doctor’s office and according to a federal report, it’s for good reason. The report suggested that men are far less likely than women to keep regular checkup appointments. The importance of seeing your doctor regularly becomes more and more important with age, however, young men are also at risk for things like prostate cancer. Do not try to ‘play doctor’ to avoid the issue.

In comparison to women, men:

  • Drink more alcohol
  • Smoke more
  • Are more likely to skip regular visits to the doctor
  • Put off routine checkups and disregard symptoms of a health problem
  • Participate in reckless, risky, and dangerous activities

It is no wonder our wives push us. There is a bit of good news, however. Many diseases and health conditions that men face can be prevented or treated if they are found early enough. To start taking better care of your health, eliminate those risk factors that contribute to an unhealthy lifestyle. Talk to your doctor about diseases that run in your family such as heart disease, cancer, and sexual dysfunction. Some risk factors are genetic and others are in your control.

Sexual dysfunctions are often precursors to more serious medical conditions, so early diagnosis will pay off in the long run.

Exercise Discretion When Talking With Your Partner

April 11, 2018 by admin

The folks from Boston Medical Group know that when you have Erectile Dysfunction and you are in an existing relationship, things can get very awkward and uncomfortable for you.

This is where you have to exercise some discretion, and some wisdom, when it comes to speaking with your partner about the problem you are having.

It is extremely important that you are open and honest with your partner. There is nothing gained by being evasive or deceptive. It is also the best policy to get things out into the open, so that the problem can be addressed as a joint effort between partners in a committed relationship.

It is also counter-productive to assign blame; if you have the condition of Erectile Dysfunction, you may be feeling a certain level of inadequacy, and that is perfectly normal. It is also perfectly normal, as a defense mechanism, to look for someone to blame.  Sometimes you may even need to seek outside help on how to address the situation.

Those possibilities become even greater if you are suffering from Psychogenic Erectile Dysfunction, where you may have difficulties achieving erection with your wife or partner, but perhaps not otherwise. In these cases, there may be a strong tendency to point to the partner as the source of the problem, when it may in fact be caused by tension about the relationship that comes only from your end.

The most important thing is to come forward and seek treatment. Contact Boston Medical Group at 1-800-337-7555 and start attacking the problem. There are many offices located throughout the United States to serve you.

Sexual Dysfunction in Trauma Victims

July 9, 2013 by admin

According to a recent study reportedat the 2008 Clinical Congress of the American College of Surgeons, 3,087 out of 10,122 survey respondents reported cases of sexual dysfunction after experiencing severe physical trauma.

Trauma, a serious or body-altering injury, had not been linked to sexual dysfunctions until recent years and findings now support the correlation. After becoming aware of the increased number of young trauma patients experiencing sexual dysfunction, University of Washington doctors decided to conduct a study on patients recovering from trauma. The study included both male and female patients and showed similar rates of sexual dysfunction regardless of the patients gender.

Said one of the study’s leaders: “For most practitioners, both primary care and trauma physicians, sexual function is not on their radar screen and most often they think of erectile dysfunction in men. Sexual dysfunction is a complex and difficult topic for most practitioners to discuss. But sexual function is a major determinant of quality of life, impacts both men and women, and if physicians don’t ask patients about their sexual health, the patients are unlikely to bring it up. This is something physicians should be asking their patients about because there are excellent medications that work in the majority of patients.” The study aims to make trauma physicians aware of the findings.

Researchers are not sure why sexual dysfunction is so prevalent among trauma patients but they do suspect it might be related to the psychological effects of trauma and its life-changing limitations.
